These experiences have built my faith and prepared me for ministering to others.  By showing you how I laugh in the midst of my own struggles, I want you to know that it's okay to laugh in yours.  I want to inspire you by sharing some of the most touching moments I’ve experienced along the way.  And I want to encourage you to look for life lessons that God is providing to accomplish His purpose for you.

In the beginning, God created me – to talk!  Then He said, "Use this gift to help others grow in Christ."  Unfortunately, He forgot to tell my school teachers, and I wound up in study hall – a lot!  But, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!           

Just like you, I’ve experienced many ups and downs in this life...

• Happiness, love, friendship, and laughter
• Pettiness, laziness, anger, and jealousy 
• Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Jesus – Fantasy, Fantasy, Fantasy, Reality!
• Asking Jesus to be my Savior and Lord!!!
• Church camp and choir trips – “Good News!” – “Tell It Like It Is” – a church bus
• My first bicycle – my first car!
• Family road trips – camping at the lake
• Major tests I forgot to study for! 
• A lead roll in the school play
• An "F" in three subjects – on one report card – grounded  for six weeks!
• My first job
• Lay ministry – children & youth
• Friends & boyfriends
• Life-time relationships –  broken relationships
• Working my way through college – wake –work–study–class–sleep–wake–work…
• A new job – my first business trip
• Pets I’ve loved, lost, and laid to rest
• Always the Aunt – never the Mom            – “Thank you, Lord!”
• Breaking down on the interstate                 – alone and 300 miles from home
• My friend Ewell – my pen pal Tiffany
• Financial worries – financial blessings 
• Many amazing mentors
• Listening through the door at my great-nephew’s birth
• Stress at home – stress at work

• My great-niece saying “Aunt Sue”            – for the first time
• Ice cream on a “pity party" day… my “friend” came to visit day… I’m feeling inadequate, unloved, or otherwise depressed for no apparent reason day!
• Weight-gain–weight-loss–weight-gain–weight-loss–weight-gain–Wait!!!
• Sprained ankle in racquetball – a cast up to the knee
• Ambulance rides to the ER
– Overdosing on baby aspirin at age 5
“But Mom, they were orange flavored, and tasted so good!” 
– Overdosing on pain meds at age 50
“But Mom, my leg hurt then my head hurt – and who reads dosage labels!”
• Back surgery–Neck surgery
• Sleep apnea breathing machine – long black nightgown, face mask, and loud heavy breathing – I look like Darth Vader in drag!
• Migraines – arthritis – orthopedic shoes
• A severance package from work – Ahh!  Time to rest, renew, and read the Word!
• A sister – a brother
• Brother-in-law – Sister-in-law
• Nieces – Nephews
• A wonderful loving Dad – entertaining storyteller – cancer and death
• A great loving Mom – artist & dancer – cancer survivor!!!
